Microneedling

As seen on the TV programme '10 Years Younger', microneedling is an effective anti-ageing treatment made popular by the stars.

Microneedling involves using an electric pen device with thousands of micro needles which, when applied to the skin cause micro injuries. This encourages the healing process and new collagen and elastin is generated restoring the skins elasticity and improve skin laxity. High quality mesotherapy serums specific to your skin concern are applied to the skin during the treatment which boosts the overall outcome of the procedure.

Micro needling is also great for improving the appearance of pigmentation, acne scarring, stretch marks, hair rejuvenation, improved skin texture and tone.

What does Microneedling involve?

Treatment includes the application of numbing cream to make the treatment comfortable. During the treatment the skin is double cleansed and an enzymatic peel is also applied to exfoliate the skin clearing the dead skin cells. Once the skin is clean the microneedling procedure can begin.

A sterile serum chosen especially for your skin concern is applied and enters the skin through the micro injuries caused by the pen. This facilities greater absorption of the product into the dermis and thus improves the overall glowing result. We only use high quality sterile serums here at Liz Wood Aesthetics selected for you and your skin concern. Hygiene and infection control are paramount in a microneedling procedure to avoid complications.

Once the actual procedure is complete, a luxury soothing hyaluronic face mask is applied; this has a soothing, cooling effect. The treatment is completed with the Celluma professional LED light therapy to boost results and also help to calm down any redness as a result of the microneedling treatment. Finally the all important SPF is applied and aftercare advice given.

A course of 3 microneedling treatments is recommended to gain optimum results. However you may require more sessions to achieve desired results if the skin condition is moderate to severe. For example deeper stretch marks or acne scarring. Treatments should be spaced at least 3 weeks apart. Following a course of microneedling, it is recommended to maintain results with a course annually.

Exosomes are gaining attention in aesthetic treatments for their regenerative and anti-aging properties. Derived from stem cells, they are rich in growth factors, proteins, and genetic material that help promote skin repair and regeneration. In aesthetic applications, exosomes are often used in conjunction with treatments like microneedling, lasers, and injectables to enhance skin rejuvenation. They can improve skin texture, reduce wrinkles, and promote collagen production, leading to a more youthful appearance. Because exosomes help modulate inflammation and stimulate cellular repair, they offer a promising, non-invasive option for addressing signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, and other skin concerns.

In aesthetic medicine, bovine colostrum exosomes are emerging as a novel ingredient for skin rejuvenation and anti-aging treatments. These exosomes are packed with growth factors, proteins, and microRNAs that promote tissue repair, collagen production, and cellular regeneration, making them beneficial for improving skin texture and elasticity. They are used in topical formulations or integrated with treatments like microneedling to enhance their delivery and effectiveness. Bovine colostrum exosomes help reduce inflammation, support wound healing, and can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. Their natural origin and regenerative properties position them as an innovative tool in non-invasive aesthetic therapies, offering a boost to skin health and vitality.
