Welcome!

Welcome to Liz Wood Aesthetics! A beautiful clinic based in North Bolton. All treatments are carried out by Liz…an experienced NHS nurse with advanced qualifications. Liz has many years nursing experience and expertise in various clinical roles so you can be assured you are in safe hands!

Having been trained to carry out aesthetic treatments by highly reputable medical training establishments, where the emphasis is on safety; Liz has been practising aesthetics since 2017. Within this time Liz has developed a passion for helping people achieve natural aesthetic results and confidence boosting skin improvements. In an ever evolving industry, Liz thrives on maintaining and enhancing her knowledge and skills. This involves investing time to study and attendance on specialist training days, conferences and webinars with key opinion leaders of the aesthetics industry. More recently in March 2024, Liz was invited to attend a prestigious cadaver training workshop in Verona, Italy with the highly esteemed and renowned researcher and anatomist Professor Sebastian Cotofona. This was a fabulous and valuable educational experience by invite only to fellow experienced medical professionals only from the UK. Liz is proud to be able to bring to the people of Bolton and surrounding areas the very highest quality and innovative medical aesthetics treatments and certified products backed by years of research into safety and efficacy.

A caring and ethical practitioner, Liz provides a beautiful, relaxed environment for clients to have their aesthetic treatments. You will always be given a warm welcome at Liz Wood Aesthetics and we look forward to starting your skin and aesthetics journey with you!

Choosing your practitioner

Currently in this country the aesthetics industry is unregulated which means for example, anybody with little to no experience can complete an unregulated training course, purchase dangerous, unlicensed and unregulated products and inject them into the faces and bodies of the general public! What can possibly go wrong? Simply put, a lot can go wrong. We see the aftermath here in clinic and unfortunately too regularly it is now in the press. However that discussion is maybe for another page or blog. (Sign up for our newsletter on this page) The point being and the moral of the tale…choose your practitioner wisely!

I believe strongly that your injector should be a healthcare practitioner ie. Nurse, doctor, dentist, pharmacist. I say this because as healthcare professionals we are regulated by our professional bodies, we belong to a professional register and we are required to update this registration yearly to remain so. Any wrongdoing in practice or misdemeanours this is investigated and made public and can come with serious consequences. Ideally your chosen injector would have a few years of experience in their profession giving them a robust and varied medical knowledge and clinical skills portfolio. Most importantly an ethical and holistic approach to assessing and treating patients in clinic. All transferable, relevant and crucial skills to benefit the patient journey. Ideally, including healthcare professionals, they should be practicing aesthetic treatments on a regular basis, not just every now and then! Healthcare professionals have access to elite training with world leaders in the industry. We have access to the market leading, highly researched, evidence based safety endorsed brands that will only distribute to medics through approved pharmacies. It’s not just the consideration of who is injecting? But also what are they injecting? To become a competent and accomplished aesthetics clinician takes years of practice, years of study and thousands of injections under your belt. It’s a medical speciality, not a two day crash course in every treatment under the sun then you’re qualified to offer services really cheap, (because they’re likely to be poor quality and cheap to buy) and you’re on your way!

Consultation

A full consultation to include medical history may be necessary prior to your treatment appointment to determine suitability for treatment.

Following a consultation and discussion around client concerns, aesthetic goals and expectations (including the treatment process, side effects etc) Liz will use her expertise and experience to provide an individualised and realistic treatment plan. All consultations are discreet and confidential, there is no obligation to proceed with treatment.

We have offered free consultations for several years, however going forward we are no longer able to do this due to late last minute cancellations and people booking in and then not turning up to their appointment which is a cost to the business! There will now be a consultation fee of £25.00 applicable to all new patients. A consultation generally takes half an hour but quite often can take longer depending on the individual. If you book in for treatment then this fee is then deducted from the total treatment price on the day or put towards the purchase of skincare products. Please note the consultation fee is non refundable even if you decide not to go ahead with treatment or purchase skincare products. There is no limit on the ‘cooling off’ period following consultation, if you need time to decide if treatment is right for you that’s ok! Consultations cancelled less than 24 hours beforehand will not be refunded if you find you are unable to attend, however you may re-schedule your appointment to a more convenient time.
