How Does RF microneedling work?

3D Dermaforce advanced RF/Microneedling is an advanced method of skin rejuvenation that stimulates the body’s natural healing process to encourage collagen production of the dermis resulting in anti-ageing and skin tightening; however this versatile treatment can also be used to treat concerns such as hooded eyelids and to improve skin laxity above the knees. Dermaforce can be used on various areas of the face and body giving phenomenal results including crepey skin, acne scarring, skin laxity and general skin rejuvenation!

During treatment, the radio-frequency energy is delivered through insulated needles. The needles can be programmed to penetrate skin at varying depths depending where is being treated on the face or body. The radio-frequency wave penetrates the basal melanocyte barrier, heating the collagen fibres in the dermis to 55- 65 degrees centigrade. The combined micro injury caused by the microneedles and the heat from the radiofrequency stimulate the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

What does the treatment involve?

The 3D Dermaforce treatment involves a full consultation assessment prior to treatment to ensure that the treatment is safe and suitable for you.

Numbing cream will be applied to the area being treated to ensure that the treatment is as comfortable as possible. Although the treatment isn’t painful as such, there may be a little discomfort so the cream can help minimize this. The area to be treated eg. the face and neck will then be thoroughly cleansed and an antiseptic solution will be applied.

The microneedling procedure can then be performed and usually takes around 30 minutes or so. Following the procedure, a cooling, moisturising sheet mask will be applied and some time under the Celluma LED face lamp will enable you to relax and

What results can be expected?

The results will become apparent around three weeks after the first treatment and then continuous improvement can be expected as the collagen and elastin is stimulated.

Although a one off treatment will give results, a course of three Dermaforce treatments one month apart is recommended to obtain optimum results. A maintenance treatment once per year is then recommended.

Results can be boosted by treatments including skin boosters in between treatments and medical grade skincare and serums.
