Is Botox safe?
Millions of botulinum toxin treatments have been performed worldwide for cosmetic purposes since its approval over 30 years ago!
As a treatment it has an excellent safety record. As with any cosmetic procedure there are risks and side effects which will be discussed at the consultation.

How long do Botox treatments last?
The effects of botulinum toxin are usually seen after around 3/4 days after treatment. The full effect is realised after 14 days when you will be invited back to clinic for a review of the results.
If necessary additional botulinum toxin can be added to refine the results. The duration of anti-wrinkle injections will vary for each individual and depend on various factors. The usual duration is 3 to 4 months.
After this time the effects will wear off and the muscles become active again. Treatments can be at intervals of no less than 3 months if you wish to maintain the effects.
Is Botox treatment painful?
The procedure involves using a very fine needle to inject the toxin. Patients report mild discomfort and are surprised by how little it hurts.
The procedure on the whole is very well tolerated . If you are extremely anxious or needle phobic, we can consider using a topical anaesthetic cream.
